Your employees already have skills, time, and goodwill to give. We help you turn that into something real for Liverpool.

An Hour For Others started with one person and a paintbrush, brightening up a community room in West Everton. Today, we're a Liverpool-based charity connecting hundreds of volunteers — tradespeople, professionals, and everyday people — with individuals and community groups across the city who need help they couldn't otherwise access or afford.

Without these kind partnerships, we wouldn’t be where we are today. We have companies of all sizes and across all sectors giving support in so many different ways, and we’d love your company to get involved.  Sign up as a business partner of AHFO, and help the communities you operate in one or more ways as listed below.

Unity in the Community

Our Unity in the Community program connects businesses with grassroots organisations. It’s about sprucing up the premises of the organisation, saving them hundreds, if not thousands of pounds, in refurbishment costs.  Through these projects, we’ve seen gardens, sports facilities and community centres completely transformed - along with the lives of those using the facilities!

These types of projects are ideal team building exercises for the likes of large businesses, schools and colleges who will get involved in basic painting services, gardening, cleaning and clearing jobs. It’s fun, it’s hard work but most importantly it’s hugely rewarding. Your efforts will make a difference to so many lives!

Random Acts of Kindness

Over the years so many businesses have offered a wide range of acts of kindness from football or concert tickets to hotel stays and weekend breaks. These are inspiring life experiences that will never be forgotten.  All of this kindness has made it possible for us to help children coping with illness and bereavement, terminally ill people, lonely elderly residents, children who have been victims of bullying and much more.

For people in the local community whose lives may have hit hard or they’ve gone through traumatic times, this kindness has made a tangible difference and has also brought our community together.

Hear from our business partners

Working with An Hour for Others means that our team members can take part in a wide range of activities, and AHFO can also accommodate large groups of volunteers, which is something we’ve struggled to find in the past. This means our team members can volunteer with their full team or collaborate with other teams across the business.

- STEVE HALL, QVC

The highlight of my day was seeing how grateful Tom was for the team’s help. It was truly a humbling experience that reminded me of the importance of giving back to our local communities. Volunteering not only allowed me to support a great cause but also helped me develop new skills and connect with colleagues in a different setting. I’d highly recommend taking advantage of your Paid Volunteer Day to any team member looking to make a positive impact in their community.

- LEE MYERS, QVC

Being a gym chain that has a focus on impacting the community, there is no better way than partnering with the experts. After seeing the amazing work the team do at AHFO, it is a privilege to work with all involved at this incredible charity and to be able to offer our health and fitness services in return.

- CHRIS NIMMO, PUREGYM MANAGER

We are a local company and we wanted to see what was going on in and around the local area. Came across AHFO and was totally blown away from the great work which had been completed so far, the plan for the future.
Everyone needs a helping hand at some point, and if we can assist in a way regardless how small it would be a privilege.

- GED MALONEY, DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS, IMPRESSION HEALTH & SUPPORT
