In November 2019 AHFO were introduced to a Dad and his 3 daughters, the girls Mum and Dads wife had recently died after a short battle with illness. Since that day we have supported the family in a number of ways as Dad had to leave full time employment to look after his young daughters. Life has been a real struggle but the family show so much courage, determination and have engaged in our community over the 3 years since we met. The family attend our health & well being sessions, help with fundraising and the girls have thrived in our half term children's groups. Dad has even volunteered some of his time helping with admin at AHFO office.
The 2 bedrooms that the girls share could really do with some improvements and decoration to help their living conditions. The work would really help with physical and mental health, help them have a good nights sleep which in turn increases their performance in school, the girls could also invite friends over to their new much more comfortable spaces. The work is also a huge, well deserved reward for how brave and courageous they have been since Mum died, they have been a credit to her and to their community ever since.
Bedroom 1 - Shared by 10 year old and 5 year old sisters, the room is in real need of TLC and some improvements. There is a boiler that needs boxing in and maybe shelving put up, a new more modern wardrobe, the whole room needs decorating and the girls would like a new carpet. There is skirting board and a door frame missing which needs putting up. The girls could also do with a new bed that incorporates 2 beds, possibly a pull out one attached to main bed or even some sort of bunk?

Bedroom 2 - This room is used by the oldest sister who is 12 years old. The room needs some TLC and improvements including painting & decorating, dressing table, long mirror, a new bed as she has outgrown the small single one currently there. Her wish is to have a bed which would include storage underneath, possibly a cabin bed. The room needs curtains, bedding & soft furnishings.
